Taiwan as the World Turns: the Diane Lee Travesty of Justice Continues

One of Taiwan's dinosaur judges left over from the KMT one-party state days proved again the double standard of justice in Taiwan and acquitted Diane Lee already convicted of fraud. Lee was guilty of holding dual citizenship and ripping the public off of over US$3.5 million dollars.

In 1995, Lee had challenged Chen Shih-meng, the deputy mayor of Taipei, of having dual citizenship and demanded his resignation. Lee would not accept any bogus argument that when Chen took office his citizenship to the USA officially ended. Ironically however, when the shoe was on the other foot and Lee was found to have dual citizenship, she resorted to the same bogus argument and wanting privilege claimed that her case was different; i.e. when she took office her citizenship to the USA ended.

Unfortunately for Taiwan, it still has dinosaur judges that were not cleaned out in transitional justice when the one-party privilege state of the KMT ended. Thus one of those dinosaur judges acquitted the already convicted Lee. More on this.

In other news is of course the growing question raised by James Soong. Is Ma Ying-joke a Persian Cat? Soong was speaking about Deng Xiaoping's statement that whether a cat is a black cat or a white cat, as long as it catches mice, it is a good cat. On the other hand, a Persian cat is useless for catching mice and all it knows is how to sit around and preen itself as being pretty. Soong did not say it, but everyone immediately made the connection that he was talking about Taiwan's President, Ma Ying-joke, also called the phony pony by others has not accomplished much except trying to look pretty. More on this later as well.
